Week 2:Introduction to the Internet issues in media and technology

Week 2: 

Welcome to my reflections for week 2. 

The following are what we looked at in week 2 :

A. Set classroom rules and different guidelines

B. Adding signature to gmail

C. Netiquette 

D. Digital Native and Digital Immigrant

Task: 

1. The class were placed in clusters and each group had to create 5 positive classroom rules to target specific behaviors.

2. Adding signitures to gmail 

             Steps 

A. Go to setting 

B. Scroll down until you see signature

C. Select signature

D . Type your signature 

E. Save 

3. Netiquette: a global public code of conduct.

4. Digital Native and Digital Immigrant

     a. Digital native: person born and brought up during the technological era and are familiar with the use of internet and computers etc.

b. Digital immigrant: a person born before technology was dominant. 

Challenges

I had no challenges during this week.

Conclusion

Very interesting lessons. At the end of week 2 i now know that when writing classroom rules it should be kept at a maximum of 5 -8 depending on the age group. I also learnt to get the students involved when making the rules. Creating signiture saves time when sending an email. In addition I found out that I was born a digital immigrant but i'm now functioning as a digital native.
